HISTORY

Established in the sixties in Bologna as a wish of Cesare Gnudi is one of the oldest art and architectural diagnostic center in Italy. It has carried out scientific examinations on a great number of world famous paintings, frescoes statues and historical buildings.

SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS ON WORKS OF ART

• Complete study on painting with diagnostic imaging (X-radiography , infrared reflectography , B/W infrared photography , pseudo color infrared photography , UV fluorescence photography , UV photography , ) and analytical diagnostics (optical microscopy (cross section) , scanning electron microscopy (SEM) , chemical individuation of inorganic pigments (SEM EDX) , individuation of binders (FT-IR), study of wood support and canvas.

• Study on polychrome statues

• Study on patinas of bronzes and brass and other ancient or recent metals or alloy.

• Study on terra cotta and clays including dating with thermoluminescence
